Read online:
“You are bored because you are not doing side quests. Life is not just work and lying in bed doing nothing. Here are 50 side quests every man should complete:”

He then went on to list 50 “side quests” in six categories: physical, mental, social, financial, adventure, creative. All but a handful focused on the individual (such as “Run a 5k without stopping”, “Learn to cook 10 meals from scratch”… there were a few in the social category that included another person such as “Reconnect with someone you lost touch with”).

The response:

These sidequests will not fulfill a man. Most are focused inward. Do you want fulfillment? Read the Bible, understand God is calling you to a purpose and multiple roles that are outward focused: love your neighbor, honor your parents, get married and love her to heaven, raise kids that know they are loved by you and God. Be the person God describes in every role - including your job. A start on the path to purpose - Matthew 6: 32 For the lost run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Whether a man (who the side quest guy was writing to) or a woman, we have a divine purpose. Not everyone is meant for every role, but everyone has a role in the Kingdom - here on earth and for eternity.

This week seek first the Kingdom - just by being the spectacular you that God is redeeming for His purpose and glory. (And He’ll provide the rest.)

Have a great week!
